Beach Blast!

Did you know? Seagulls are an endless source of entertainment for a toddler. Especially at a big beach park with plenty of grassy space.

Open to the public, Onanda Park is a little slice of paradise in an already heavenly region of Canandaigua Lake. West Lake Road is worth a drive by itself — picture a modern-day The O.C. set in the Finger Lakes, but with less Olivia Wilde. Lavender hedgerows and forest mazes obscure mansions and upscale docks from view, but you still get a glimpse of luxury on your drive. Onanda is about halfway down the lake, or a 20-minute drive to Canandaigua or Naples either way — and 40 minutes from Conesus Lake. With a wide swimming area, plenty of shady picnic tables, a playground, and a game room, the park makes for an easy family beach trip.
