Sweet Little Honey Stand
1–2 minutes
,

Embrace your cottage-core phase — with a trip to your local woodland honey stand.

Tucked into the woods along Canadice Road, north of the lake itself, you’ll find a little free library and a honey stand side-by-side. There’s no point within GPS for it — you’ll have to discover it for yourself. Resembling a house out of David the Gnome, the hand-crafted shelf is jam-packed with books and displays a sign reflecting its nickname, “A Sweet Little Library.” Next to it, the honey stand props up a hexagonal cylinder filled with honey jars, glowing through tiny honey-comb windows. A bold vertical sign reads HONEY with a tiny bee emblazoned within the hexagon-shaped O.

One of Explore Conesus Lake‘s first posts alluded to buying honey from this stand in Canadice. People tend to return to their roots, even as those roots evolve. It’s nice to see a memory come to life again. 1. It appears like a mirage in the middle of the woods! There are treasures like this all around the Finger Lakes.
