Rhododendrons are beautiful. About 30 years ago, I camped in a magical campground located near the town of Rhododendron, Oregon at the base of Mt. Hood, about 40 miles east of Portland. The campground was in a forest of Douglas firs, amid groves of rhododendrons in full bloom.
